Aleksandr Korol is one of the most important contemporary artists of Ukraine. As a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists it unites academic realism with impressionistic expressiveness and a deeply symbolic visual language.
Origin & education of Aleksandr Korol
Today, Aleksandr Korol lives and works in the city of Kharkov in the Ukraine. His artistic career began with his studies at the State Academy of Design and Art in Kharkovwhere he works in the Easel painting was trained. There he perfected the traditional technique of plein air realism and specialized in portrait and genre painting.
Influences & inspiration
During his studies, Aleksandr Korol was inspired by greats such as Ilya Repin, Mikhail Vrubel, Fyodor Sakharov, Claude Monet and Rembrandt inspire him. Many of these masters continue to influence his painting style to this day.
