Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe - Music in color with virtuosos at work

This impressive music in color oil painting by Nina Nikonenko was created in the year 2016 as part of the project "Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe". It shows three musicians in black tailcoats playing saxophones and trumpets with concentration. The scene is full of energy - and calm at the same time. The moment seems frozen. But music pulsates in the colors.

The musicians - a triad of expression

In the center of the picture sit three men in classical concert dress on blue chairs. Two are holding golden Trumpets in his hands, the third a shining Saxophone. Their facial expressions are serious, full of devotion. Everyone seems deeply immersed in the sound of their instrument. This creates a feeling of concentration and inner movement.

Color as a language - technique, style and surface

Nikonenko works with palette knife and impasto oil paint. This gives the work a relief-like structure. The dominant colors - ochre, ivory white, black and blue - create a harmonious contrast. The bold brushstrokes also reflect the rhythm of the music. Nothing seems rigid. Everything seems to flow - like a visual score.

Atmosphere full of sound and movement

Although the picture is silent, you can almost hear the music. The posture of the musicians, the play of colors and the texture of the surface create a sound image. It is a concert on canvas - tangible, tangible, tangible. This work therefore invites you to linger.

A work of art for music lovers and aesthetes

With a size of 90 x 130 x 5 cm makes the painting ideal for large walls. It fits perfectly in Music room, Rehearsal rooms or Galleries. Also available as an exclusive Gift It is a special choice for musicians or conductors. It combines music, painting and emotion - in a single moment.
