The composition shows two boats moored to a simple jetty, embedded in a vibrating sea of Turquoise, blue and shades of gray. The scenery is loose, almost sketchy and yet atmospherically dense. The artist - in the tradition of modern Impressionism - dispenses with precise lines. Artistic profile
Nina Nikonenko is an internationally active Ukrainian painter with a focus on Plein Air Painting, Landscapes, Still life and lyrical portraits. Her artistic signature combines classical academic training with a modern color language and a deep emotional connection to the nature and culture of Ukraine. Her works are often created in the open air - plein air - This gives them a special light and color intensity.
Nikonenko is regarded as a representative of a contemporary painterly poetics, which in the Ukrainian landscape painting as well as in the symbolism of European art history. Particularly noteworthy is her ability to merge sound and image - as in her highly acclaimed project "Landscape of Music".
