Artistic profile
Nina Nikonenko is an internationally active Ukrainian painter with a focus on Plein Air Painting, Landscapes, Still life and lyrical portraits. Her artistic signature combines classical academic training with a modern color language and a deep emotional connection to the nature and culture of Ukraine. Her works are often created in the open air - plein air - This gives them a special light and color intensity.
Nikonenko is regarded as a representative of a contemporary painterly poetics, which in the Ukrainian landscape painting as well as in the symbolism of European art history. Particularly noteworthy is her ability to merge sound and image - as in her highly acclaimed project "Landscape of Music".

- "Landscape of Music" - An interdisciplinary exhibition in cooperation with the ARTgallery cellar and the Baden State Theater Karlsruhe | The cycle of works combined visual art with musical associations and showed 16 paintings that were created during an artistic residency in Germany.
- "Plein Air Painting" - Live artwork in Desenzano del Garda with ARTgallery cellar | 2017.
